This was the brainchild of one of our LD members, Conny, who decided it would be a great idea to get a little team together to trek across Morecambe Bay, under the guidance of Cedric Robinson, the Queen's Guide to the Sands, to raise money for Lancky Dogs. Mick, Joanne and Ian thought that sounded a great idea and agreed to join her !! We were blessed with a fabulous day weather wise and the scenery can only be described as beautiful.
It started out nice and dry as the houndie support team and cheerleaders gathered to wish everyone well and wave them goodbye
.... but then it started to get wetter ........ and deeper !!!
However, thanks to the good guidance of Cedric Robinson everyone made it safely to the other side, if a bit damp and foot sore
The little LD Team look very pleased with themselves and well they might. Thanks to all their efforts and the generosity of their sponsors they have raised a fantastic £700 to help us continue our houndie saving work. A huge well done and thank you to everyone involved in making this such a successful event. So a final word from the Chief Mascot who clearly found all the cheering and waving just a little too exciting ! Happiness is a cosy van with a gentle breeze on a warm day.
