Lancky Dogs are delighted to be able to hold a number of one off charity shop weeks during the course of each year. The shop is situated in Chapel Street, Poulton-le-Fylde and although it consists of one small room, it is packed full of goodies. The property is owned by the Methodist Church who very kindly rent it out on a weekly basis to small local charities and other organisations. Without their generosity it would not be viable to try and rent a property ourselves via the private sector.
Despite the tremendous competition, (there are 5 other charity shops in Poulton) we still manage to raise lots of money for Lancky Dogs as a result of our members’ continued support and amazing generosity in donating lots of quality items, and giving freely of their time to help out in the shop. Lancky Dog members, Paul and Marian, spearhead the collection and organisation of all donated goods as well as managing the shop during our week.
As well as selling the donated items in the shop, we maximise revenue by selling selected items privately. We also sell on E-bay and place items into various auction houses. Many of the items that we cannot sell in the shop are sold on to the trade. Items we have had donated in the past have been sold to customers as far apart as Australia and America. You will be amazed also to learn that all our unsold books are shipped off to India; it’s a small world and absolutely nothing that is donated is wasted.
All the efforts of our team really pays off and enables us to help rescue lots more hounds in need.
None of this would be achieved without the sterling efforts and tireless work of Paul and Marian who masterminded this magnificent enterprise. It is no exaggeration to say that many hounds owe their lives to Paul and Marian for their work and dedication to raising the funds to help save them.
